Treat everyone with respect, whether we think they deserve it or not

Agree to disagree
Differing opinions and viewpoints are welcome. But do not belittle or insult those who do not agree with your opinion.

Don't take things personally or out of context
Realize that we are an international community and various common words or phrases can have completely different meanings in different societies. We have addicts here that are from five different countries on the staff. We communicate well.

If something has got you upset, wait until you've cooled down before posting about it. Remember--the more calmly you phrase a response, the less likely it is to cause a problem.

Off-topic Replies
Please keep your posts on-topic with the subject of a thread. This isn't to say you absolutely can't introduce new ideas or make off-topic remarks.

Moderators may move posts to more relevant threads, split topics, or create new topics as needed.

We try to live in a way at,that uses the principles of our 12 steps and 12 traditions.
We believe in free speech, unless it is using trademarked material,or guilting or shaming another member of the forum,or anyone else.
We all learn and grow at our own speed.Respect others.Treat everyone as you would treat your Higher Power.
Our staff are all in recovery, and human. We will do our best.
. There are several types of consequences for unaceptable behavior
1.Warning - This is where a public announcement is made that mentions your name and that you have broken a rule. We will determine whether you knew what you were doing was wrong or whether a warning is necessary to explain it do you. If we do not give a warning, we will skip ahead to the next step in the consequence list.
2.Muting - This is where you are not able to talk on the board. You may still view it.
3.Temporary Ban - This is where you are not able to view the board for a certain period of time.
4.Permanent Ban -Call your sponsor.
The following rules list the most serious violations:
1.No Hacking - This should go without saying, but you are not permitted to hack the board. Guessing someone else's password and succeeding counts as hacking. Members who hack will instantly be permanently banned without any warnings.
2.No Discrimination, - You may not insult members based on their religion, race, sex, political beliefs, or whether they are gay or straight. This is worse than flaming, because it also hurts other members of the board who fall into the category you insult. is a place where everyone is equal, and discrimination will NOT be tolerated!
3.No Bullying - Period.
4.No Flaming - Flaming harms the nice atmosphere of It also causes thread's to go off topic, and most importantly, it hurts the person being flamed. The victim may defend themselves against any accusations made to them, but may not make any additional accusations to the flamer (which also counts as flaming).
5.Share from the heart, but try not to  harm yourself or others
We all make mistakes, and we are doing the best that we can,as we understand you are too.
We respect everyone's anonymity, and hope that everyone will do the same.
Please respect us as you want us to respect you.
We are addicts, not professionals of any kind.If you feel suicidal, please look for the help that you need.
We will help you stay clean, but please put first things first. We need you!
We are members of a 12 step fellowship to stay clean of the disease of addiction, but we are not NA.
We use Simple Machines Forum software, but we do not represent them either.
