There is one guy who I took to a meeting last semester. I cannot carry him to meetings or that saying " you cannot carry the addict " I heard this at one time . You can bring a horse to water , you cant force them to drink it - but if you place a pale by their head , when they are thirsty enough they will drink it ; make it comfortable for that new comer so they will keep coming back

:) :)  I know I was greeted at the door by someone at my first meeting .It is a custom they have in NA.A greet and a hug . I always try and talk with all the newcomer I can. They may not know it but they are the lively hood of the fellowship .As I remember that first 90 days was not easy even doing the 90-90 thing. After almost 40 years of using it was not easy . I did not know what life was like anymore .I stayed and will have 7 years of complete being clean , no matter what .I have learned there is life after using.1/10/2012 is my clean day for seven years.  :) :)

    8) 8)  I know when I came into the rooms I was welcomed with open arms . It is to make you to feel your safe here , and that were glad you came .  The men hugging men thing took a little while . I know I did not know what to expect at these meetings . They were all happy , I thought they were on something at my first few meetings . I was welcomed and a group of men took me under their wing and should me the way . I went to my first NA Spiritual Retreat at 6 months clean , that was an experience I will never forget . The man who welcomed me at that first meeting is the one I asked to be my sponsor  , he said he would , I have been with him for 7 years this January , 10 , 2012 . I know I have always talked to newcomers because I get to meetings early .  I know the greeting the newcomer is very important  .   8) 8)   Buckberry  Archives
